Spanning 1,200 hectares, the Al Ain Oasis is a tranquil haven that preserves a 4,000-year-old traditional 'falaj' irrigation system. It is an exceptional site for students and historians studying early human adaptations and sustainable agriculture in harsh desert climates. The oasis contains over 147,000 date palms. The best season to visit is between November and March when the weather is cool. Tourist tip: Rent a bicycle at the main entrance to comfortably explore the vast, shaded pathways.
