A striking 14th-century Serbian Orthodox monastery located near the Prokletije mountains. It is renowned for its stunning blend of Romanesque, Gothic, and Byzantine architectural styles. Students of art history will be captivated by the thousands of remarkably preserved original frescoes covering its interior walls, which represent one of the most complete ensembles of late Byzantine art. Best visited in spring or summer when the surrounding valley is lush. Tourist tip: The site is protected by KFOR, so you must present a valid passport at the checkpoint to enter.
